About The Work
The venerable artist Kiki Smith produced this triptych in two sizes, each in an edition of 26, to benefit Art21’s programs and initiatives. As is typical of Smith’s work, Untitled is concerned with the corporeal experience; on the most immediate level, the three successive images suggest the movement of the subject’s body through space. The artist’s fusion of photography and screen printing, moreover, is an affecting means of drawing the viewer’s eye to the model’s personal features.
