About The Work
In this variable edition created for her 2012 show at Portikus, production focused artist Nora Schultz visually alters a variety of aluminum objects through abstracted printing. Created in conjuncture with an elaborate sound installation, the construction of Shultz’s “printing plant” primarily served to print images of all objects in the exhibition, visualizing them in a new dimension. Like a rattling multi-floor (and extremely high-capacity) newspaper printing installation, Nora Schultz’s “Portikus Machine” produced images, objects, colors and sounds that construct a language, which takes on new dimensions as it undergoes perpetual transformation.
