About The Work
Gabriel Kuri explores form, function, and materiality of utilitarian objects in seemingly spontaneous juxtapositions that are both playful and theoretical. A lithograph with monotype, this edition is an exercise in equilibrium and compositional balance. As we observe the many variations of the quintessential pink stain of a dwindling paper role, our relationship to the marks' function dissolves. We are left with an uncanny sense of the irony, mystery, and palpable attractiveness of the quotidian.
