About The Work
This edition was produced to accompany the exhibition The Resounding Bell, 2018 and the launch of the South London Gallery’s new building, in the former Peckham Road Fire Station. Rory Pilgrim, co-developed a short film series and live performance with a council of women aged 22 – 94, living locally to the gallery, and a group of young women at a local school. The exhibition explored how we might amplify otherwise unheard stories from the past that are in danger of being left silent. With our lives dominated by digital communication, the intersecting episodes reflect on how we can come together from different generations to share stories, ask questions and listen in order to understand the past and move forward into the future.
