About The Work
This offset lithograph poster was created on the occasion of the Richard Prince exhibition at the Kunsthaus Bregenz in Austria from July 19 - October 5, 2014. The artwork featured in this poster is titled, "Bootleg" and was created by the artist in 2010. For people who grew up in the Sixties (or for lovers of rock & roll documentaries) the term "It's a Free Concert" was an ingrained part of our cultural vernacular. For the new generation, it refers to the transformative 1960s concert "Woodstock" on Yasgur's Farm, when the organizers loudly declared "It's a Free Concert" - after so many people without tickets wanted to attend. The term has taken on a meaning beyond its original context.
