About The Work
This beautiful hand signed offset lithograph poster was designed by Frank Stella for the DNC to raise funds for the Carter-Mondale 1980 re-election campaign. This is one of approx. 100 prints that Frank Stella signed, apart from the signed and numbered edition of 250. The 1980 Democratic National Convention was held at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The piece references Stella's "Polar Coordinates for Ronnie Peterson IV"(1980), part of a series of 8 pieces he dedicated to Ronnie Peterson, a Formula One Driver who was killed in the 1978 Italian Grand Prix.Unframed and in fine condition. A stunning and uncommon piece of art historical (and political) ephemera.
