    About The Work

Vacuum cast in plastic from hot tub parts and spray-painted in saturated colors, this edition by Los Angeles based artist Mika Tajima underlines our relationship to objects of leisure while invoking technologies developed to control and affect the body. The works are related to her ongoing Furniture Art series, the title of which refers to Erik Satie's Furniture Music (Musique d'ameublement), a series of infinitely repetitive compositions intended as background music.
