About The Work
Charline Von Heyl uses a variety of techniques to realize enigmatically abstract paintings, prints and collages. Multilayered and idiosyncratic, this unique work combines various repeated patterns and motifs—stairs, cans, ambiguous shapes—to create a composition of positive and negative space. Untitled challenges the viewer to reconcile abstraction with figuration, curves with linearity, and the bold graphics of stencil and silkscreen with painterly process.
