About The Work
Frequently inspired by his background as a scientist, artist Carsten Höller creates work involving natural forms, experimentation and environment. Exploring various social spaces, including amusement parks, zoos and playgrounds, the structures and figures found in Höller’s work are often re-interpretations of everyday scenes—merry-go-rounds, animals, and plants. In this uniquely perforated lithograph, Höller captures a vibrantly red fungi amongst the brown and grey forest floor.
