Shahzia Sikander

Shahzia Sikander (b. 1969, Lahore, Pakistan) is a globally celebrated artist known for her groundbreaking contributions to contemporary art, including her deconstruction of miniature painting traditions and her innovative work across diverse media such as monumental digital animations, painted glass, and sculpture. Recent highlights include major solo exhibitions at Madison Square Park, New York (2023), and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (2022), and receiving the Pollock Prize for Creativity (2023). Her work is featured in the collections of leading institutions worldwide, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Royal Ontario Museum.
