About The Work
Composed of some words traced in pencil by the artist – “Essential”, “Pure”, “Unstable”, “Marvelous”, “Infuriating”, etc. –, similar to a haïku, the Note sur l’I.K.B. from 1959 exemplify in writing the concept of the International Klein Blue which, since its invention, has been the object of a universal fascination. The limited and posthumous edition produced in 2020 in collaboration with the Yves Klein archives is a UltraChrome inkjet print realized after the Note sur l’I.K.B. (1959). Edition of 75 copies, each print is certified by the artist’s estate’s dry stamp.
