About The Work
The "Flying Cock" belt buckle is not only the first piece designed and hand carved by Jonathan Johnson for Tom of Finland - it is also the heart of the collection. Solidly cast in sterling silver, it gets its finish with a high-gloss polish and a blackening with Parisian oxide. Even the back impresses in addition to its perfectly crafted functionality with many stunning details: The thorn, a lovingly crafted penis, in conjunction with the steel strap in the form of two penises sheathed in laurel leaves, ensures the perfect fit of the leaterman's belt. The Flying Cock was the first insignia of Tom of Finland Foundation, drawn by TOM himself in the vein of subversive insignias found throughout his body of work.
Hand crafted by Jonathan Johnson in Hamburg, Germany. This item is made to order. Please allow up to three weeks to ship.
