About The Work
Chaos is often the very essence of artistic creation, in particular when spurred by the realities of financial instability—a discord that inspired the conception of The Estate of Rochelle F. during the economic decline of 2009. Rochelle Feinstein challenged herself to salvage and transform the contents of her studio, including discarded work, old supplies and various materials, into “assets.” This body of work would be cost-free and push Feinstein to expand and redefine her process. Prints from The Estate of Rochelle Feinstein is a deeply personal and experimental work, incorporating both Feinstein’s penchant for text as artistic medium and her irreverent wit.
