About The Work
From the 1980s and 90's Paul McCarthy's stage sets, masks and props became sculptures, mechanised figures, video installations and environments that are often violently, sexually and politically charged. The limited edition, Coppermeal 3, was from a series of five editions produced by Paul and his son Damon McCarthy, to accompany McCarthy's 2005 exhibition at the Whitechapel Gallery.
