Fondazione Antonio Ratti is a non-profit organization founded by Antonio Ratti in 1985.

FAR is committed to the survey of languages and research in the field of textile and visual arts, being particularly attentive to contemporary art. The statutory purpose of the foundation is to promote initiatives, research and studies of artistic, cultural and technological interest. Through FAR's activity, scholars of textile and contemporary art together with established and emerging artists have the opportunity to extend their research, to produce new work, and to reach a wider audience of art lovers, the most renowned critics and the most prestigious institutions, both in the public and in the private sector.

At the core of its educational activity, FAR holds the program CSAV - Artists Research Laboratory: a workshop for young artists that aims to widen their knowledge of visual arts in both theoretical and practical aspects. During the month of July, 15 artists live in Como for about a month to deepen their knowledge in visual arts as well as to interact with each other and with the surrounding environment. This experience includes conferences and meetings with artists, critics and specialists of diverse disciplines.

Since 2015, FAR started a special project of artists’ editions to fund the CSAV activity. The Artist Limited Edition Series are objects created especially by former invited artists of the CSAV - Artists Research Laboratory.
