    At first delightful and desirable on account of its quirky “message in a bottle” quality, this decorative arts work becomes all the more fascinating upon further reflection. Here, Italian artist Paolo Canevari makes use of the she-wolf, which is not only a symbol of Rome but is also an important figure in Native American and Nordic cultures. His confinement of the she-wolf in the bottle carries weight, as in this single gesture, Canevari essentially objectifies substantial histories, societies, and cultures in one consumer product.
