    About The Work

Niall McCleelland is best known for his DIY punk aesthetic, especially photocopy drawings whose abstract lines are formed by chance from creases rubbed into photocopied paper as it is carried in the artist’s pocket. In this unique work McCleelland again forms random abstractions from simple repetitive gesture and cheap materials. Here, the illusion of depth and movement emerges from slanted lines drawn using cyan, magenta, yellow, and black sharpies.
