About The Work
Famed Conceptual artist Lawrence Weiner's text-based works activate their surroundings with enigmatic phrasing set in his characteristic block text. Visually simplistic yet conceptually adept, the envisioning of a purpose or notion is essential, Weiner has said he believes the viewer must complete his work by viewing it; the act of seeing imbues his instructions with meaning.
L’Art à l’Enfance presents its mobile museum, MuMo, which goes and meets children to offer them a first contact with contemporary art, especially those who do not have access to art institutions— in rural or underprivileged areas. This project stems from the conviction that art promotes openness and sharing, abolishes boundaries and transforms our outlook on the world.
The proceeds from the sale of this work go to the foundation and will help MuMo travel longer distances to reach more children.
