Former studio artist Lauren Godfrey has generously produced one of her signature 'pattern portrait drawings' exclusively for Gasworks.
A long-time studio holder, Godfrey borrowed items of clothing from her fellow studio artists, international visiting artists and Gasworks staff to create the original drawing which has been translated into a 5-color screen print.
Archipela-go-go (Alessio, Alex, Bronwyn, Evan, Joel, Juha, Kent, Laura, Len, Michelle, Nicholas, Sheena, Sriwhana, Violet) is a vibrant abstract landscape of undulating fabrics that serve as a time capsule, capturing the personality of Gasworks and its community through their sartorial choices.
The clothes were borrowed from Alessio Antoniolli (staff), Alex White (staff), Bronwyn Katz (visiting artist, South Africa), Evan Ifekoya (studio artist), Joel Furness (staff), Juha Pekka Matias Laakkonen (exhibiting artist), Kent Chan (visiting artist, Singapore), Laura Hensser (staff), Len Zachariou (staff), Michelle Williams Gamaker (studio artist), Nicholas Byrne (studio artist), Sheena Balkwill (staff), Sriwhana Spong (studio artist), Kudzanai-Violet Hwami (studio artist).
