About The Work
In his work, John M Armleder uses references that recall art history as well as popular culture. For years, he has recycled decorative elements evoking the Christmas celebration and organized an “X-mas Party” within the framework of his record label, founded with his son and Sylvie Fleury, Villa Magica Records.
On occasion of the 2018 “X-mas Party,” Print Them All realized with MAMCO a Christmas edition. In this lithograph, Armleder uses two comic characters from the 1950s: Eega Beeva and Marvin the Martian, as motifs repeated on a gradient-colored background. Space or time travelers these figures hint to reflexions on evolution, the future, and alien forms of life that never ceased to haunt our culture.
Printed with the classical know-how of Idem in Paris, this edition exists in 4 versions: Black & Yellow Edition, Orange & Blue Edition, Blue & Pink Edition, Purple & White.
