Ligia Dias
Ligia Dias is an artist, designer, consultant, and curator working within art, design, and fashion. She works and lives in Geneva. Her work is exhibited in international pubic and commercial institutions, and private foundations as among others the Musée des arts décoratifs in Paris FR, Musée d’art moderne de la ville de Paris FR, Musée des Beaux-arts in Lausanne CH, and the Bally Foundation in Lugano CH. Her work is in the permanent collections of the Swiss Federal Art Collection hosted at the mudac in Lausanne CH (acquisition 2021) and the Centre national des arts plastiques in France (acquisition 2011). Since 2017 she is curating the curatorial project THE CORNER PIECE that shows together her work and the work of other artists. The project refers to the store and the exhibition. It wishes to be interdisciplinary and puts together conceptual and craft practices. The principle is to invite artists and designers according to productions they have made within or at the edge of their framework. In a spirit of transversality, the project questions the notion of artistic field, the subjective value of a given object, be it art-work or product, as well as the exhibition form in itself.
