About The Work
Both vibrant and elegent, this pomegranate sculpture will brighten any home and makes a great gift. The pomegrante, one of the seven species of Israel and a familiar fruit on the Rosh Hashanah table, is a symbol of righteousness, knowledge, and wisdom because it is said to have 613 seeds, each representing one of the 613 mitzvot (commandments) of the Torah. Due to the handmade nature of the sculpture, please allow for some variation between each piece. Each piece is hand-blown and made in Massachusetts. Andrew Iannazzi of Vitricca Iannazzi is a glass worker whose glass creations strive to create emotional connections to shared cultural past and are inspired by Italian and European glass making in relation to American design. "Vitricca" is a combined word from the latin vitrum (glass) and fabrica (workshop/industry/craft). The combination allows Iannazzi to define the multifaceted pursuits of his work.
