About The Work
In the framework of a creative residence in Diaphane, pôle photographique in Hauts-de-France, the photographer Israel Ariño toured, between June 2017 and December 2018, the territory of Clermontois under the prism of its stations, facing the unpredictable chance of the march and the desire to photograph intermediate spaces that intrigued him. Ariño oscillates our memory of the places between geographical recognition and temporary questioning, with images that interrogate the past while reflecting on its future. The work of color is here an element of transfiguration, sometimes perverse, that drives us to rethink our perception of the territory, to subvert reality, and ultimately, to poetize it.

All copies are handmade printed by the author and scanned in high quality to be colored by the artist Cara Gasull. Later the works are reproduced in pigments on Japanese Kozo paper from the negative black and white. Due to all copies are reproduced by hand, there may be small variations comparing to the representations shown on the web page.
