About The Work

"Having experienced life as a New Yorker both before and after 9/11, the time came for me to reflect upon the city as I saw it then and as I see it now. For years, my daily walks downtown took me beneath some of the outdoor public art of Manhattan - those enormous not-to-be-ignored billboards above Lafayette Street. “I believe we human beings are responsible for the survival of other species on this earth. My small contribution is my art which I hope can reach people to reflect on what we are doing to this wonderful, unique, fragile world of ours.” - Irene Christensen
