About The Work
This work by Daniel Arsham is a replica of Asahi Pentax SP1000 reflex camera, the first one the artist used in his early photography practices. These Crystal Relic series are made of cast resin making each object translucent to light and have been created with extreme detail. Following the idea of a fictional future archaeology, Arsham explores the idea of modern objects found in a long future.
Daniel Arsham takes care of the finest detail and this can also be seen on the packaging, which is a stunning sealed studio designed housing with die-cut foam. As usual, Arsham includes a pair of white art handling gloves. The package also comes with a holographic label verifying its edition number and authenticity.
