About The Work
The Pot Plants series from artist duo Wysocka / Pogo incorporates their signature risograph printing process in a smaller format. Allowing for a more affordable option to collect. By combining two printed canvas sheets with a single hand stitched seem the artists create a further layer of abstraction. Available as individual framed artworks as well as in sets.
Material is sourced from vintage photographs, books and other archives, stripped of its original context and transformed to create new visual narratives. Wysocka / Pogo utilise Risography, a Japanese stencil printing technique from the 1960’s, to express this reinterpretation. They purposefully push the risograph’s boundaries heightening the elements of chance and unpredictability in the finished pieces. Their canvases become a beautiful and uniquely tangible reflection on the passage of time and context, as well as machine-made replication vs. hand-made interpretation.
