    About The Work

In this lithograph print, Arctic Earth, created by artist William Leavitt for Liverpool Biennial’s Limited Editions series, the artist elaborates on his 2014 work of the same name, shown as part of the 8th Liverpool Biennial Exhibition, A Needle Walks into a Haystack. The mixed-media installation at presented fantastical 'edge of the world' imagery, married to the mundane—floorboards and a pair of domestic curtains juxtaposed against beaming light from an orbiting planet. In this print, Leavitt continues exploring themes of domesticity against a Hollywood backdrop, suggesting darker currents beneath the veneer of normality.
