About The Work
In 1964 Richard Lindner was asked to design a felt banner by legendary art dealers Marian Goodman, Robert Graham and Barbara Kulicke, who established the Betsy Ross Flag and Banner partnership. After creating the iconic Felt Banner in an edition of 20, Richard Lindner created this screenprint in 1969.
Marian Goodman Gallery recently mounted an exhibition curated by Dieter Schwarz June 25 - August 28, 2020 at the Marian Goodman Gallery in New York to celebrate Marian’s creation of Multiples, Inc. in the 1960’s in which this print was included in that exhibition. There is also a catalogue that includes a complete list of the Multiples, Inc. editions with an essay by Mr. Schwarz.
