    About The Work

Best known for expressing hegemonic power through the grids of “prisons” and “cells,” Neo-Geo painter Peter Halley favors figurative source material over the non-objective abstraction of the 20th century. The central focus of his work has been on the interactions between these geometric boxes of color and line that overlap, relate, and juxtapose. In this print S/T 1, Halley’s characteristically bright palette is subdued, his schematic-like composition rendered in a pale green ink.
