Galerie Simpson
Galerie Simpson Publishing was established by artist Jane Simpson in 2012, producing limited edition artworks, with artists such as Angela de la Cruz, Georgie Hopton, Gary Hume, Jamie Reid, Gavin Turk amongst others. Her publishing reflected on this page reflects Simpson's long and varied career, working closely with friends and colleagues from the art world over the last 30 years and more recently includes photographs and editions created by Simpson herself.
After re-locating to her hometown of Swansea, she hosted several exhibitions in her office. This organically developed into an artist’s run gallery, officially opening its doors in July 2014. Aided by a small team of artists who have helped steer this project, it already has a series of successful shows under its belt. The aim to exhibit a very wide range of artists, at all stages of success. Galerie Simpson Artists is now an independent non-profit space. In order to support of this and in the spirit of a DIY approach to fundraising, several works on this page are published by Galerie Simpson Artists including the Galerie Simpson Selection Box. An instant art collection with editions by some of the biggest names in the British Art World, all of which have been created especially and donated by the artists to help support this Swansea gallery. Focusing on the handmade detail, production methods range from watercolours, lino cuts, wood block and silkscreen, to gold plated sculptures, cast resin, vegetable prints, photo collage and digital prints. There is truly something for everyone in this cornucopia, which contains similar voices and overlapping interests, each work featuring hand finishing or multiple layers of creation to create something truly special. artists included are; Fiona Banner, Sir Peter Blake, Angela de la Cruz, Abigail Fallis, Tom Gidley, Georgie Hopton, Rachel Howard, Des Hughes, Gary Hume, Catrin Saran James, Michael Landy, Simon Periton, Jamie Reid, Jane Simpson, Sarah Staton, Gavin Turk, Rachel Whiteread & Clare Woods. (Each Box comes in a hand crafted box, which measures slightly larger than A4 and each of the 50 produced contains 18 works, all signed and numbered by the artists. These works are also available individually)
