Boody is interested in how symbols systems affect the psyche and creates narratives to explore this theme. This piece is part of Boody's series, "78 Symbols to Understand the World". Culled from PsycheSuperStar , a fantastical photo series about the life of a young woman and an oracle deck by the same name, each image portrays a universal allegory. Personalities from her story cycle are woven into these emblematic images that comment upon female experience. The red velvet Victorian frames accentuates the period feel of the works which evoke another time and place.
Daughter of the Stars portrays a young woman walking in a twilit field. Mappings of constellations and an uncanny glow belie the hyperrealisim of the natural setting.
