About The Work

This primary market artwork is a monotype; a unique print made by drawing and/or painting directly on the surface of the matrix (any printing surface, such as a metal or glass plate). The image is then transferred onto a sheet of paper by hand-applied pressure or using a printing press. A second, weaker impression called “cognate” may be printed from the same inked or painted matrix.
