About The Work
Jean-Michel Basquiat often painted in part from his fascination as a youth with the book Grey’s Anatomy and his interest in African masks. Unlike many of his other pieces that he completed over just a few days, this painting took months to be completed and was shown at his debut solo gallery exhibition in New York City.
This 500-piece jigsaw puzzle features Basquiat’s vibrant skull painting that hangs in The Broad in Los Angeles. The multitude of colors and finer details within the work make this a challenging and fascinating puzzle.
