    About The Work

Like many of Isca Greenfield-Sanders’ paintings, this photogravure and aquatint print, which borders on abstraction, depicts a serene, idyllic scene—a mother and child lakeside. The artist’s unique method of painting over found digital photographs results, here, in a surreal, vibrant palette, capturing a visual effect that would typically be avoided in traditional photography but occurs frequently in informal snapshots, giving the print a nostalgic, dreamlike air.
