About The Work
Phaidon and Artspace are proud to present a new limited-edition print by British artist Harland Miller. Hz So Good is an edition inspired by Miller's oil painting of the same title, first exhibited at his solo exhibition, The French Letter Paintings , at White Cube, Paris, 2021.
Created through a combination of etching and multiple layers of relief printing, Hz So Good is rich in texture and detail, evoking the cover of a well-read book. Each edition is signed by the artist on the front and numbered on the reverse, and is presented in a custom-produced clamshell portfolio box, with a signed and numbered edition of the updated and revised Harland Miller monograph, In Shadows I Boogie .
'A painter whose works are loved, and coveted, by many, including some very famous fans.' – The Telegraph
'Miller is a consummate and sincere storyteller.' – Financial Times
About the book:
The most comprehensive monograph to date on the British artist and writer loved for his witty book-cover-inspired canvases, now updated with 40 of his latest works.
Harland Miller's creativity as both artist and writer culminates in his iconic paintings of battered book covers with cleverly invented titles. Initially appropriating the classic Penguin paperback, before devising his own unique designs, Miller combines aspects of pop art, abstraction, and figurative painting to create highly coveted artworks. The monograph included in this edition covers nearly 20 years of his paintings and features specially commissioned essays by eminent art writers exploring all aspects of his practice.
