    About The Work

Gordon House described this series of lithographs in his catalogue 'Gordon House Editions 1982-1996': 'The need to reassess one's regional origin and the opportunity to travel the motorways. The rapid changes in terrain now approachable by recent roads exposing differences between counties within travelling minutes. The sense of culture changes, old names and language. The visual effect of nature all amidst progress and adjacent placing of city, town and the populous needs of the moment. These thoughts, together with specific visual ideas related to names and to places, have given way to another slant, to 'order and randomness' as a design programme. The following prints (cat 126-139), along with new paintings, bring together these concepts. Ordered form ideas on random gridded formats but again imposed with strong division, gives an endless opportunity to evoke other thoughts, memories and some surprises...'
