About The Work

A vibrant, large scale abstract painting by the New York/Hawiian artist, Debra Drexler created with vivid color.  Warm orange and yellow forms populate the upper left quadrant, while organic blue green and beige shapes settle in the lower right corner of the canvas.  Reminiscent of shapes from Henri Matisse cut outs, Drexler utilizes hard, clean lines in her painted forms.  Fields of layed and glazed hot pink and peach, give a depth to the background.  Poured and impasto paint create an active suface with ceralean blue and mauve, contrasting a bright nearly neon orange line of paint.
