About The Work
In this new limited edition David Noonan contemplates the sculptural and spatial qualities of print, through both the visual relationship of collaged forms and the textural properties of ink upon on paper. The edition comprises two separate screen prints on heavyweight paper, which are hand collaged by the artist to create a subtle relief. Layers of imagery are built up over a background of metallic pigment, suspended in a clear medium so that the print surface shifts and morphs depending on the position of the viewer or the nature of the light. In exploring the multidimensional potential of the printed surface and the navigational strategies of the eye, the very act of looking is brought into question.
