Zebadiah Keneally

Brooklyn-based artist Zebadiah Keneally is known for his multimedia work, which includes drawing, painting, performance, and digital media. Inspired by pop culture sources such as 1990s Nickelodeon, Monty Python, and the Portlandia TV series, his work addresses the various absurdities and obsessions of the contemporary experience. Pulling existential themes from bizarre and humorous situations, Keneally engages with deeper questions of human existence through the complex mythology of created characters such as “Hamburger Vampire.”

Keneally has staged his performances at several spaces including Mixed Greens Gallery, the Wassaic Project and on the Manhattan Neighborhood Network. Recent projetcs include production for Mike Doughty’s rock opera, REVELATION, which premiered at WNYC’s Greene Space.  Keneally’s works have been shown in New York City, Los Angeles, Detroit, Ho Chi Minh City and Kuwait City.  His books and publications are in the collections of the MoMA Library, the Thomas J. Watson Library at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Whitney Museum.
