Sébastien Bonin

Belgian artist Sébastien Bonin is fascinated by the photographic process and its potential to manipulate color and form. Whether he is photographing the Californian landscape, car bodies, or Navajo rugs, his work consistently moves between representation and abstraction. Bonin uses color filters, tape, photographic paper, and light to push his work beyond its subject. The results of these explorations are surreal depictions of romantic landscapes and intricate studies of patterns.

Sébastien Bonin's work has been shown in group and solo shows, including D+T Project, Brussels, Island, Brussels, WIELS Contemporary Art Center, Brussels, Super Dakota, Brussels, 186 Louise, Brussels, Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen, and Johannes Vogt, New York.
