Robert Stadler

Designer Robert Stadler intervenes in very diverse fields, obliterating all hierarchies between free proposals, industrial and public commissions. He explores the exhibition space in order to scramble the usual categories of art and design. He questions the status of the object as work of art or product as well as the intersections between preciousness and lowliness, and the serious versus the absurd. In 1992 he cofounded the radI desIGNers group, which was active until 2008. Stadler has shown his multifaceted works at Galerie de Multiples, Paris, Carpenters Workshop Gallery, Paris, Galerie emmanuel Perrotin, Paris and Galerie traversée, Munich, among others. In 2012 he was awarded the Liliane Bettencourt Prize for intelligence of the hand.
