Oli Epp

Oli Epp’s paintings of contorted, faceless figures and slick pleasures—money, cigarettes, gold, dessert, clothing with logos—critique advertising, branding, and the digital world. The London-based artist uses a combination of airbrush, oil, and acrylic to create his flat, graphic style, which he describes as “Post-Digital Pop”; Epp is interested in examining our relationship to technology, social media, and contemporary material culture with a sense of humor and absurdity. He received his BA in fine art from the City & Guilds of London Art School and has exhibited in Paris, New York, London, Berlin, and Los Angeles. Epp has enjoyed institutional shows at the Schlossmuseum in Linz, Austria, and the Museum of Fine Arts Leipzig.
