Ntiense Eno Amooquaye

Ntiense Eno Amooquaye’s practice integrates the visual, written and spoken word through print, text, image, and live performance. Her first solo exhibition, “Hera Master Come Down” at Southbank Centre’s Saison Poetry Library in 2014, was developed by researching and writing in the library throughout the year. Her interests spanned a wide variety of poets in the collection including Anne Ryland, John Betjeman, Joseph Butler, and Benjamin Zephaniah, and she focused on topics including local areas, black and white culture, plain text, and image.

Since 2007–when Amooquaye joined Intoart, a London visual arts charity working with people with learning disabilities–her work has been exhibited and performed in major contemporary art galleries and museums in the UK such as Whitechapel Gallery, Tate Modern, Studio Voltaire, and internationally at MAD Musée in Belgium.
