Kim Michalak

Kim Michalak refined her understanding of image creation by investing thoroughly in printmaking.  In her professional training at the Tamarind Institute, Litho Shop, Pace Prints and Derriere L'Etoile Studios,  she has worked alongside a number of master printers and leading contemporary artists.  The detail oriented, serial nature of producing limited editions has informed every aspect of her art-making process.  With an innate interest in conceptual notions and an uncanny knack for compelling imagery, this artist uses skill and intuition to create works on paper with an almost sculptural presence.

Michalak was born in 1989 in Shelton, Connecticut.  She attended the Maryland Institute College of Art as an undergrad and currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.  Her works have been acquired by museums, collectors and colleagues surrounding her professional work in print shops.
