Joanne Freeman

Joanne Freeman received a BS in Fine Arts from the University of Wisconsin and an M.A. in Studio Art from New York University. She has shown her work extensively in solo and group shows and selected one-person shows include: Kathryn Markel Fine Arts, New York, NY. 490 Gallery, Brooklyn, NY. University of Maine Museum of Art, Portland Me., Lohin Geduld Gallery New York, NY., Au 9, Galerie d'art, Casablanca, Morocco, The Bess Cutler Gallery, New York and Santa Monica CA., Marc Jancou Gallery, Zurich, Switzerland, White Columns, New York, NY. and The Queens Museum, Flushing, NY. In 2013 she curated the group show "WIT" at the Painting Center in New York and in 2012 she co-curated with Kim Uchiyama "Color-Time-Space" at the Lohin Geduld Gallery in New York, Janet Kurnatowsi Gallery in Brooklyn and Hofstra University, Hempstead NY. "I think about the play of light on the geometry of the city, and the graphics of mid-century media."
