Isa Ho
Meng-Chuan (Isa) Ho (Taiwan, b. 1977) is a mixed-media artist who creates photographs that explore "urban fairytales." After receiving her MFA from Taipei National University of Art in 2005, Ho exhibited her works widely in Taiwan, throughout Asia, and in the United States. In 2009, Ho received support from the government of France to participate in a six-month residency at the Cite Internationale des Arts in Paris. Confronted with an urban culture radically different from Taipei, Ho began creating works that imagined universally popular myths and themes through the lens of a foreigner, specifically, an Asian woman working in Europe.
In 2012, Isa Ho received a five-month Asian Cultural Council (ACC) Fellowship to observe contemporary art activities and investigate the unique urban environment of New York City. ACC also supported Ho's participation in a creative residency at the International Studio and Curatorial Program, and a program at Parsons School of Design.
