Francesco Romero

Francesco Romero is a former musician and producer who now channels his creative energy into photography. Primarily based in Italy, his work explores themes of absence, decay, and isolationism through a graphical and geometrical lens. He is drawn to the dystopian qualities of everyday life.

Romero enjoys decontextualizing elements like details, landscapes, and architecture, allowing them to stand alone as striking, alien images. His photography is heavily influenced by music, with 90% of his shots inspired by northern electronica, drone music, and Detroit/German techno. He is also deeply influenced by early US hardcore-punk and industrial music.
