Elena Nieves

After completing her studies in 1990, Elena Nieves worked under Argentine painter Luis Felipe Noé from 1994 to 2009. In 1996, she had her first solo exhibition in Buenos Aires and began to participate in fine art contests across the country. Shortly after, Nieves was awarded a prestigious scholarship by the Ministry of Culture of Argentina. For much of her career, Nieves' focus was on drawing and painting but as she began experimenting with other means she took an interest in video installation which led to her to showcase a video in an exhibition titled, Painting without Paint, in 2004.

Her work is in private collections in Argentina and abroad. In the public domain, Nieves work can be found in the collections of the Museum of Fine Arts of San Juan Franklin Rawson, the Provincial Art Museum Santa Rosa La Pampa, and in the Borges Cultural Center in Buenos Aires. Since 2005, the artist exhibits regularly in Italy.
