Claudia Wieser

Berlin-based artist Claudia Wieser makes sculptures, prints, and drawings that are inspired by Modernism and technical drawing. Wieser’s detailed compositions are drawn on blue or gray paper and made up of geometric shapes and symmetrical abstractions. Similarly, her sculptures take the shape of cones, cylinders, and spheres made out of hand-painted and patterned ceramics, and carved wood. Wieser’s mesmerizing artistic language is influenced by craft, architecture, and the work of Wassily Kandinsky and Paul Klee.

Wieser’s work has been shown in group and solo shows, including Marianne Boesky Gallery, New York, Hauser+Wirth, New York, The Drawing Center, New York, Sies+Höke, Düsseldorf, Galerie Kamm, Berlin, Galeria Casado Santapau, Madrid, and Drawing Room, London.  She has participated in numerous residencies, including CCA Andratx in Spain.
