Ryan Trecartin

Ryan Trecartin graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2004. He lives and works in New Orleans. His film "A Family Finds Entertainment  was shown in the 2006 Whitney Biennial. He structures his videos, sculptures, and performances as collaborative efforts, enlisting the cooperation of friends to produce work that ends up reflecting the concerns of young people amidst digital culture. I-BE AREA  (2007) is a feature-length film that includes a cast of dozens and incorporates complex narratives exploring such themes as cloning, adoption, and virtual identity.
